KRISTIINA RETURNS TO THE US
This October, Kristiina Poska returns to the United States for a series of concerts with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, including three orchestral debuts.
The tour opens on 16 and 17 October with her debut at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. The programme features the US premiere of Proteus Pulse by Estonian composer Ülo Krigul, Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21 with pianist Marie-Ange Nguci, and Schumann's Symphony No. 3, Rhenish.
Poska then travels to Atlanta for her debut with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, with performances on 22, 23 and 24 October. Joined by pianist Sullivan Fortner, she conducts a programme featuring Gershwin's Catfish Row, the Porgy and Bess concert suite, and Rhapsody in Blue, alongside Carl Nielsen's Symphony No. 4, The Inextinguishable.
The tour concludes in Milwaukee on 30 and 31 October, where Poska leads the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in a programme bringing together Krigul's Proteus Pulse, Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 with soloist Orli Shaham, and Schumann's Rhenish Symphony.
These concerts continue Poska's regular appearances in North America. In recent seasons, she has worked with the Minnesota Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Colorado Symphony Orchestra. Her latest engagements in St. Louis, Atlanta and Milwaukee further extend these collaborations with American orchestras.
